sim card for iPhone

I have a Samsung A25 5G and am switching to an Apple iPhone 17 - will I need a new SIM card ? Or can I just pop it out of the Samsung and put into the iPhone? Thanks

    No problem at all! Yes, if it's just a replacement phone with no new SIM or number change, you can simply move the SIM from your Samsung A25 5G into your new iPhone 17.

    Thank you for reaching out.

     

    If your iPhone 17 is an upgrade to your existing iD Mobile contract, you can simply remove the SIM card from your Samsung A25 5G and insert it into your new iPhone 17. Your number, plan, and allowances will all remain the same.

     

    If, however, you've taken out a new contract instead of an upgrade, you'll need to use the new SIM card that came with your iPhone, as it will be linked to a different mobile number.

     

    You should be able to tell whether it's an upgrade or a new contract by checking the confirmation email you received:

    • If the email includes a new mobile number, then you've taken out a new contract.
    • If there is no new number and it refers to your existing account, then it's an upgrade.

    Its just a replacement phone, no sim. No number change. So guess I'll just pop the SIM card out of existing Samsung A25 5G  and push it into the new Apple 17 iPhone
