Sim Card Stopped Working

No signal or data on my phone, only works on Wifi. Tried the Sim card in a different (much older phone), and it will only receive data over the network, not calls, and Wifi of course. On the original phone, went into Settings, Mobile network , Sim Preferences, and it says there’s a Sim there. It actually says eSIM, but its not an eSIM anyway. I nned to know if its the sim or my phone, should I just get another sim from Currys and try that? Tried eSim, but phone doesn’t appear to be compatible. Moto G62 5G. even though it says it is listed on the look up for compatible phones. Any suggestions, or have I done everything I can? Thanks.

Hi @Bobt ,

Thanks for your detailed message, it sounds like you’ve done a thorough job trying to troubleshoot the issue, and I can imagine how frustrating it must be not having reliable signal or calling functionality.
Your Moto G62 5G is listed as eSIM compatible on several sources, but some users report issues activating eSIMs on this model. It’s possible that while the hardware supports eSIM, the software or network provisioning may not be fully aligned with iD Mobile’s systems.

-Yes, you can absolutely visit your nearest Currys store and request a free replacement SIM. Their Tech Experts will issue one on the spot.
Once you have it, activate it via www.idmobile.co.uk/yoursim.

-Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Preferred Network Type and ensure 4G/VoLTE is enabled. This is essential for calls to work on newer networks.

If the new SIM still doesn’t work, reach out via:  Live Chat here: www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat, or please reach out to us on here via Facebook or Instagram, Live Chat, our Community page, or by emailing socialqueries@idmobile.co.uk with the detail
