I have put my current sim into my new phone for the new contract but it is not working. Have tried to ‘activate’ but thus far failed. Please advise.

    Hi @Franmccormick91,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your SIM working in your new phone.

Could you try the following steps:

    • Turn the phone off and remove the SIM card.
    • Check that the SIM is fitted correctly in the SIM tray and isn't damaged.
    • Reinsert the SIM and switch the phone back on.
    • Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, then turn it back off.
    • Make sure mobile data is enabled.
    • Check that the phone is running the latest software version.
    • Restart the phone.

If you're using an iPhone, you can also try a network reset:

    • Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset.
    • Tap Reset Network Settings.

If you're using an Android device:

    • Go to Settings > General Management (or System).
    • Tap Reset.
    • Select Reset Network Settings.

It would also be useful to know:

    • Are you seeing any error messages?
    • Does the phone show any signal bars?
    • Are calls, texts and data all affected?

If you've tried the above and the SIM still won't activate or connect, please contact our Customer Service Team via Live Chat so they can run some checks on the SIM and account: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

    Regards,
