URGENT:

iD mobile SIM card not working on either Oppo CPH1877 (Oppo R17 Pro) nor Samsung Galaxy A8 Star (Samsung SM-G8850)

Did receive text messages on Oppo but could not call out and could not receive calls (either inside flat nor outside flat). Switched on and off and still does not work.

Went to Currys Store who could not fix issue. They replaced the SIM card and now no service whatsoever on either SIM card.

Very frustrating as have important GP calls on Thurs 8 Jan and Fri 9 Jan so need phone to be working.

Did ask before joining iD mobile if SIM Card would work on 4G Android phones and was told on Live Chat that they would work. Also bought £6 plan. If doesn’t work, how get PAC code to switch to network which does work and get £6 refund asap, pls?

Very frustrating as initially enquired with Live Chat. Got through and answered a few questions but then the agent did not respond for over 20 mins at which point quickly left to go to nearest Currys store before they closed. Have the Live Chat transcript

How do I raise  a complaint about this issue as I can’t receive important GP/doctor calls, pls?

Neither of those devices are on the iD Mobiles approved device list.

Yes - before I switched to iD mobile - nobody from iD mobile told me that the mobile phone I had, had to be on iD mobiles approved device list. I told them about issues I had with my previous network where I wasn’t getting reception indoors but could get outdoors so I asked specifically about Android 4G phones. Nobody asked me the mobile had to be on approved list. Now I have no service whatsoever and have v.important doctor calls anytime tomorrow Thurs 8 Jan from 8am and on Fri 9 Jan from 8am (different health issues) and they won’t be able to reach me. These appointments were made before Christmas and it was the earliest appointments available. V.very frustrating.

Got text from iD at 20:11 today saying ‘… if you’re activating a physical SIM card, it’s already in progress’. Been over 2 hours but the Currys staff said generally takes 10mins but he had to close shop at 20:00!!

Not resolved as have no service on either sim card. As mentioned went to currys last night who gave me a replacement sim card but that is now not working. They closed but said it should only take 10mins but been over 15 hours now. V.frustrating as only have 1 phone and expecting important GP/Doctor calls today and tomorrow.

Pls assist

Hi @hapster ,

I’m really sorry for the frustration, especially with important GP/doctor calls expected.

The replacement SIM is still activating. Although it can sometimes take minutes, activation can take up to 24 hours. As the activation text was sent at 20:11 yesterday, it’s still within the expected timeframe. Unfortunately, there’s nothing further we can do to speed this up while activation is in progress.

Please note that the Oppo R17 Pro and Samsung Galaxy A8 Star are not on iD Mobile’s approved device list, so we can’t guarantee full service compatibility on these devices. If the SIM is still not working after 24 hours, you can request a PAC code to move to another network. We can also log a formal complaint for you regarding this experience.

Dear Lamiya,

Thank you for your reply.

Am getting text messages but still can’t make nor receive calls on my Oppo CPH1877 mobile.

Pls provide PAC code to my email address or text me it asap, so I can move to another network.

Can you also log complaint so that I ca get the £6 refund on the plan I purchased, pls?

Thanks for your assistance.

Kind Regards,
