SIM unknown?

I currently have no phone service. In settings under SIM it says ID mobile, Unknown. It has done this a few times recently & usually sorts itself out if I restart or reinsert the SIM card. Nothing seems to be working today. I've tried cleaning the card & contacts & toggling in/out of airplane mode. Last software update was 26th April.

I’m really sorry you’re experiencing this.I completely understand how stressful it is when your phone suddenly shows “SIM unknown” and you lose service, especially when it’s happened a few times already.
 

Please try the following:

• Turn Airplane Mode ON for 30 seconds, then OFF
• Go to Settings → Mobile Network → Network Selection and set to Automatic (or try manually selecting iD Mobile if available)
• Remove the SIM, gently wipe it again, and reinsert ensuring it sits firmly in place
• Restart your phone again after reinserting
• Go to Settings → General → Reset → Reset Network Settings (this will refresh connections without deleting your data)

 

Also check:

• Does the SIM work in another phone (if possible)?
• Are you seeing any “No Service” or “Emergency Calls Only” messages?
 

If it still shows “ID Mobile – Unknown” after this, it may indicate a SIM failure or network provisioning issue, and we may need to arrange a SIM replacement or account refresh for you.
