swap from physical sim to esim

I currently have a physical SIM in my phone but I dropped my phone and the screen is broken. It's going to cost hundreds to fix so I'm just going to buy a new phone, however the phone I am looking at is an esim only phone. Can I swap my services from a physical to esim for my new phone?

Yes, you can switch from a physical SIM to an eSIM and keep your same number on your new eSIM-only phone.

What to do next:

• Make sure your new phone is eSIM compatible and unlocked
• Ensure you have access to WiFi during setup
• We can then convert your physical SIM to an eSIM for you
• You’ll receive a QR code to activate it on your new device

Quick tip:

Before switching, it’s best to keep your old SIM active until the eSIM is fully installed, just to avoid any service interruption.

How do I request an e sim for my account?

Hi @Sacha18,

You can request an eSIM through the iD Mobile app or by contacting our Customer Service team via Live Chat.

Via the iD Mobile App

Open the iD Mobile app and log in.
Go to the Services section.
Select Replace SIM.
Choose Switch to eSIM.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your request and activate your eSIM.

Via Live Chat

If you're unable to request the eSIM through the app, you can contact our Customer Service team via Live Chat:

Visit the iD Mobile website.
Navigate to the Help & Support section.
Select Live Chat.
An advisor will be able to arrange an eSIM for you and guide you through the activation process.

Please make sure your device is eSIM compatible before requesting the swap. Once the eSIM is issued, you'll receive instructions on how to install and activate it on your device.
