We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with your Samsung Galaxy S24 after the recent update. We understand how frustrating this must be, especially when the handset is working for calls and messages but shutting down when trying to access your photos.

As you have already cleared the cache and data, please also try the following:

• Restart the handset in Safe Mode to check if a third-party app is causing the issue:
  • Press and hold the power button
  • Press and hold Power off
  • Select Safe Mode
  • Try opening the Gallery again
• Check if the issue happens when accessing photos through another app (for example Google Photos) to see if it is specific to the Gallery app.
• Try wiping the cache partition:
  • Turn the phone off
  • Press and hold Volume Up + Power button
  • Select Wipe cache partition
  • Restart the device
• Ensure all Samsung apps are updated through the Galaxy Store as well as the Play Store.

If the issue continues after trying these steps, we recommend taking the handset into a Currys store so a technician can inspect the device and look into the issue further.
