taking old phone number into new contract

I have bought a new phone and got a new sim and number. I have a PAC code to take my old number, which was a ID contract, over into my new ID contract/sim but it will not let me do it. Every time I ask for number to be transferred over it won't allow me. Just a bit confused really.

I must inform you that we do not offer internal number transfers within our network. Number transfers are typically between different networks. If you wish to keep your number with iD mobile, the best approach would be to upgrade from your existing contract to a new one, which will ensure the retention of your current number.
