I received a new iPhone yesterday.  It is now set up for all functions except calls.  When can I make and receive calls, and import my old number using the PAC I have received from my old provider?

    Hi @RVannoey,

Thanks for getting in touch, and I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble making and receiving calls after setting up your new iPhone.

This is actually quite common with iPhones following a number transfer/PAC request, as sometimes the device continues trying to register the old number instead of the newly transferred one.

Please could you try the following steps:

    • Go to Settings
    • Tap Phone
    • Tap My Number
    • Delete the old number
    • Enter the new number
    • Tap Save

Then follow these steps to refresh iMessage:

    • Go to Settings
    • Tap Messages
    • Turn iMessage OFF
    • Go to Settings > General
    • Tap Reset
    • Choose Reset Network Settings

    Once your iPhone restarts:

    • Go back to Settings
    • Tap Messages
    • Turn iMessage ON again

Your iPhone should then recognise the new SIM correctly and verify your number.

We’d also recommend restarting the handset once more after completing the above steps and allowing a little time for the network registration to fully update.

We hope this helps get everything working normally for you.

    Regards,
