I’m going to Thailand soon and am going to use a SIM card when there. I currently use an eSIM, does anyone know how I can switch it over on a temporary basis? Thanks 🙂

Hi @Meem

When abroad and you have a local physical sim in the handset you will then be able to switch between the esim and physical sim in the handset settings under Mobile services.

Thank you for your reply. Will it show up as an option once it is in my phone? Sorry for sounding like a divvy but I don’t want to end up stuck without my phone!!

Hi @Meem,

Yes, it will. As soon as the new temporary SIM is inserted into your phone, it should appear and begin working.

As a recommendation, if you’re not looking to spend more than your monthly line rental, I would suggest setting your bill cap to £0.00 before you leave the UK to help avoid any unexpected charges.

You can do this by logging into the iD Mobile app or your online account, navigating to the Bills section, and selecting Manage bill cap. From there, you can either use the slider or manually enter a new amount, which can be set between £0 and a maximum of £75.00, depending on your account type.

If you need any help with this, please feel free to let me know.

Regards,
