Morning, I have just purchased a mobile contract, phone with e-sim for my son's birthday. We have got it slightly early and want to hold off giving him the new phone. What i didn't realise is the phone comes with e-sim.

Is it possible to use the e-sim on his older phone and switch it to the new one in a few weeks?

Thanks

Hi @mattdean1986

Thank you for reaching out.

Yes, that's possible.

When you're ready to move the service to the new handset, you should be able to request a replacement eSIM through the iD Mobile app. This will allow you to activate the eSIM on the new phone.

Please note that the replacement eSIM should only be requested when you're ready to make the switch, and you should avoid submitting multiple eSIM requests, as this can cause delays or activation issues.

If you need any assistance requesting the replacement eSIM, please contact us via Live Chat or send us a direct message through one of our social media platforms, and we'll be happy to help.
