will my old vodaphone number switch to my e sim automatically on changeover day?

My switch from Vodaphone is happening today and all I want to ask is will my old number automatically switch to my new ID e-sim so WhatsApp and I message will work?

Hi @Andyrewrob,

Yes, that's correct.

Once your number transfer from Vodafone completes, your existing mobile number will automatically move across to your iD Mobile eSIM.

Your WhatsApp and iMessage should then recognise the transferred number. In some cases, it can take a little while for the services to update after the port completes.

If they don't update automatically, try:

Restarting your phone.
Turning iMessage and FaceTime off and back on.
Opening WhatsApp and checking that your number is displayed correctly under Settings > Account.

If your transfer is scheduled for today, it's normal to experience some temporary disruption to calls, texts and data while the switch takes place.
