Just received my Samsung A51 as upgrade to existing Galaxy J5. I’m keeping the same number. Can I take the SIM from the J5 and put into the A51 or must I use the new card sent to me with the new phone? Is there a need to back up the data before transfer on my Google account?

If you have upgraded your contract then the new sim will have the same number. You can use either the new sim card or the existing sim card, it would be your choice. We would advise doing an up-to-date backup on Google on the Samsung J5, once done, you can sign into the Samsung A51 with your Google account and everything will be transferred over.
