New software now unable to unlock phone

Samsung A10 android phone locked due to downloading new software (name ???) and I can’t get into my phone as I do not remember giving it a password password totally forgotten/unknown. Completely locked out - the phone won’t switch off; tried taking out SIM card; playing with all the different p/words NOTHING so my next port of call will be a hammer! Unable to phone out (emergency calls only) and after trying all the comments on the internet on ‘how to’ I now give up. Seriously considering buying a new phone from Carphone Warehouse as heartily sick of iDmobile. Since signing up with them I have never managed to get hold of the them. During the first lockdown we were told it was due to keeping their staff safe??!! Surely like a lot of other organisations they could have linked up phones at home! Feel as though one person runs this company. As this is urgent my mobile phone is my life as I have serious health issues and need to speak with various people. Very annoying and disappointing. Grrrrr.

Hi @497723,

I am sorry to hear about this software issue, is it just stuck on asking for a password/PIN to gain entry? Sometimes, albeit very rarely, software updates can cause issues to phone and we have no control over that you see.

You could try to do a hard software reset however this will lead to data loss. You can view ways of rebooting the phone here before going through with the factory reset mentioned towards the bottom.

Please let us know how this goes.

Ryan
