old number transfer issue

My old number from o2 has transferred across to ID mobile but my problem is when i message my contacts, by SMS or whatsapp, the receiver gets the SIM card number that came in the post.

Calling my contacts works successfully in terms of they see its me, my old number, but not when messaging. Why is this? and please advise ASAP.

Dom

Hi Ryan,

I've sorted it now by uninstalling WhatsApp and reinstalling it, then putting my old number in.

Thanks 😊

Hi there Dom.

It could be that your phone hasn’t updated internally to reflect the recent number port.

Could you try the following for us:

Turn off the iPhone > Take out your SIM
Turn the iPhone back on (no SIM) > Leave on for a few minutes or so.
Turn off the phone >  Pop the iD Mobile SIM back in the iPhone
Turn back on.

Let us know how you get on, and what phone you’re using.

Thanks

Hi @domp20,

On the WhatsApp app, can you try to update the number as seen here: https://faq.whatsapp.com/android/account-and-profile/how-to-change-your-phone-number/?lang=en

In regards to SMS issues, if you head to the Reset section of your Settings app, you should be able to reset the network settings to see if this helps. Please let us know how you get on.
