When I originally created my ID account for the mobile app, I was using an old email account, so that email address doubled up as my username.
I have since deleted the old email account and updated my email address in my ID app, but I can't find a way to update my username.
Any help or advice would be so appreciated!

There is no way to change username email unfortunately but since you changed your email for contact purposes all emails from ID will be in your new inbox.
