Remember, remember it’s the 5th November! To help you celebrate, here’s a list of bangin’ apps to download before you head outdoors for bonfire night. They’ll add some sparkle to Guy Fawkes Night.

iLightningCam 2

Free on iOS

Originally designed for capturing photos of lightning, iLightningCam 2 works for taking pictures of fireworks too. The most impressive thing about the app is its ability to take photos automatically. Just point your camera up to the sky, and it will detect the firework straight away and take a picture. And the full resolution feature means you’ll get razor-sharp images.

Boomerang

Free on iOS and Android

If you want to try and make some fun firework videos, give Instagram’s Boomerang app a try. It loops one-second videos backwards and forwards, so with some good timing and a bit of luck, you should be able to create some cool firework effects.

AccuWeather

Free on iOS and Android

No one wants to be stuck watching fireworks during a downpour, so use AccuWeather to check out the latest weather conditions in your area. The app even offers a minute-by-minute precipitation forecast, hyper-localised to your exact address. So you can head home early for a mug of hot chocolate if any sudden rainstorms look likely.

Real fireworks camera

Free on Android

A firework display in the comfort of your own home? No, we’re not talking about indoor fireworks, we’re talking about this fantastic firework simulator app. It uses AR to let you superimpose firework displays onto real life backgrounds. As the app blurb says: ‘stop wasting money on fireworks, step into the next century!’ We can’t promise that this’ll satisfy any kids looking forward to an actual fireworks display, but it’s worth a try.

Anonymous Mask

Free on iOS

Get in the spirit of Guy Fawkes by superimposing the anonymous mask over a picture of yourself. Just take a selfie, or use a pre-existing photo. Then choose from four masks to cover your face with - ideal for that seasonal profile pic.

Will you be downloading any of these apps? If so, let us know what you think of them below!
