I’d buy a slightly bigger house in a less built-up area with a bigger garden for the dogs and a bigger drive for a campervan that we could go on easy weekends away.

Oh man, what a question!

To be honest I’d buy a humble countryside house with plenty of land to build a dreamy outdoor kitchen and cinema for some starlit movie nights and home-cooked feasts. Then, I’d embrace my inner nomad when I fancy, traveling the world, backpacking, and sharing unforgettable experiences with amazing people. No more unbearable work hours—just a life filled with joy, exploration, and connection. It would also give me the opportunity to invest in a business venture that I have always dreamt of doing to support women in sport. Surely I’m not asking for much haha!

Easy. £1m to clear mortgages and debt for myself, family and close friends. Then £1m setup as a community conservation grant scheme. Local Groups, Local Authorities, Farmers and Charities could apply for grants up to £50k each to deliver projects aimed at providing better quality habitat for species around the Greater Manchester area. Projects focused on larger sites, watercourses or targetting threatened species would be given priority, ideally with applicants finding matched funding or using volunteer hours to further the cause. I will give 50% to a charity for good causes and the balance 50% to my children to improve their living standard.

What would you spend £2,000,000 on?

A house and the holiday of a lifetime

I am an 80 year old man. So such a huge amount is not worth for me to leave for the HMRC to get a hefty share of 40%. So best thing is to leave 50% to a charity for good causes thus reducing the IHT liability  to a lower rate, so that ,my children can enjoy with the balance.

I'd buy a nice detached house and have an indoor swimming pool built with a sauna and steam room and plunge pool for all my family to use. With the rest, I'd invest in some properties and rent out so I was able to retire early and enjoy life with family holidays seeing lots of lovely places around the world.

I would buy some rough land, build a nature pond and shelter spots to encourage wildlife to thrive there and enjoy getting away for a nice winter sun holiday..

I would buy a decent quantity of wasteland, build nature ponds and sheltered spots and encourage wildlife to fill it. I would also treat the family to a nice holiday (or few) and enjoy relaxing a bit more.

I will buy my aged mother a house and make it  mobility walker friendly and stair lift.

Sponsor my niece who lost her dad with her education. Finally have a summer house in my back garden.

Two million pounds?

Invest half for the future then use the rest for my children and my friends.

Plus an awful lot of travelling in five years when my youngest child finishes school and (possibly/probably) starts University/Other Education etc
