2025 was a rocky year culminating in the loss of a loved pet 3 days before the start of the new year.

Saying that though there were plenty of achievements, from watching our two adopted kittens grow into beautiful cats of their own personalities to my son going from not wanting to interact with other people to going to Scouts on a weekly basis, learning new skills and really building his confidence. It’s been great to watch.

For myself I went on an journey of intentionalism with things around me and really focusing on my health, by being more in control of what I choose to eat and do. This has given me so much more energy both physically and mentally that I can be proud of and will definitely be taking it into 2026 with me!

Switching to ID Mobile to take advantage of the 30GB overseas roaming which is such great value for money.

What a year it’s been! Let’s look back at the best bits… and celebrate with a MASSIVE giveaway.

2025 has been a milestone year for iD Mobile. We turned 10, launched a perk-packed loyalty scheme, upgraded roaming for global travellers, welcomed even more new customers, and saw our iD Community grow bigger than ever.

It’s been one of those years where lots of things clicked into place - and where being an iD Mobile customer came with more value than ever before. This round-up takes you through our biggest changes and achievements - so you can catch up on what’s new. Plus, read on to the end to find out how you can win a Nintendo Switch 2 & Mario Kart World Bundle!

Celebrating 10 years of iD Mobile and over 2 million customers.

This year marked a huge moment for us: iD Mobile officially celebrated its 10th anniversary. A decade of flexible plans, smart features, and no-nonsense value - something we’re really proud of. And to celebrate the milestone, we launched something new for customers - iD Perks.

iD Perks is our loyalty platform packed with exclusive discounts and special deals from brands like Disney, Booking.com and Morrisons. It’s built to make everyday life a little easier - whether you’re booking a trip, planning a family day out, or just treating yourself.

As if turning 10 wasn’t enough, we also passed another major milestone: over 2 million customers now choose iD Mobile. That growth is powered by the features you tell us matter most, like Data Rolloverbill cappinginclusive roaming.

Award-winning value all year long.

2025 also brought recognition from some trusted names. iD Mobile was awarded Best Value Network by Trusted Reviews, spotlighting our focus on great prices without ever compromising on quality.

Our SIM Only plans also continued their strong award run, being recognised by Which? for the third year in a row, and the seventh time overall. It’s always encouraging to see our commitment to value reflected in awards, but it’s even better knowing those wins reflect what customers look for every day - simple, affordable, reliable mobile plans.

Roam Beyond add-ons: travel just got easier.

For people who travel outside Europe or head further afield for work or holidays, this was a standout update. In 2025 we launched Roam Beyond, a new way to stay connected when travelling in destinations outside our 50 Roam Free countries.

With Roam Beyond, customers can now buy data-only add-ons for popular global destinations including the USA, India, Australia and more. They’re flexible too. You can choose 1-day, 5-day or 10-day passes, with prices starting at just £5. Whether you’re planning a big adventure or a quick getaway, using your data abroad with iD Mobile is hassle-free and easy to manage.

The iD Community hits 150,000+ members.

One of the most exciting milestones this year was driven by you, as the iD Mobile Community grew past 150,000 members, making it one of the most active and supportive mobile communities in the UK.

The Community has become a go-to space for advice, tips, updates and friendly chat. It’s where people help each other solve problems, share their knowledge, ask questions and join in with competitions and discussions. This year’s growth shows just how much customers value having a space that’s more than just support. It’s a real community with personality and enthusiasm.

Major phone launches: the year’s biggest tech drops.

And of course, 2025 was packed with new phone launches from all the major players, giving customers even more choice when it comes to upgrading.

  • iPhone 17 series

Apple delivered bigger displays, smooth 120Hz ProMotion screens, upgraded cameras and new Apple Intelligence features, making the iPhone 17 lineup one of its most powerful and polished yet.

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 range

Samsung raised the bar again with stunning AMOLED displays, enhanced cameras and a suite of AI-powered tools to boost creativity, productivity and everyday usage.

  • Google Pixel 10 series

Google introduced the Tensor G5 chip, Gemini AI smarts and pro-level photography tools, making the Pixel 10 range perfect for creatives and Android fans wanting something fast, intuitive and camera-ready.

Fancy upgrading to an awesome new phone? Here at iD Mobile, we’ll continue to offer competitive deals across the latest flagship ranges, helping customers get the latest tech without stretching their budget.

The iD app: more powerful, more helpful.

Another big step forward this year came from something many of you use every day… the iD Mobile app!

With ratings now sitting above 4 stars on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, the app continues to get smoother and smarter. Some of the standout features you enjoyed this year include:

  • Managing multiple plans in one place.
  • Tracking your data, minutes and texts.
  • Setting bill caps and controls for spending.
  • Enabling or disabling roamingpremium calls, and other services.
  • Viewing and managing your allowances, bills and add-ons.

It’s all about making it easier to stay in control, whenever and wherever you like.

Wrapping up an eventful year.

As we wrap up 2025, it’s clear we’ve got a lot to be proud about – expanding how you roam, growing the iD Community, improving the app, and supporting the latest phone launches with great value deals. And our 10 year anniversary, of course! Thanks for being part of it. Whether you joined recently or have been with us for years, we appreciate every bit of your support.

Recovering from a stroke .

had been healthy most of my life. Thought that strokes happened to others, not me. Surgery had been warning me that my blood pressure was too high for years. I refused medication because I thought I could do yoga to bring down my blood pressure. However, I never found the time to do yoga.

1st night On reaching holiday destination (Dailley KA26), ( watching tv 10 pm at night) I suddenly noticed light blue streaks in my left eye as if someone had painted part of an abstract painting in my left eye. I thought the lighting in the lounge was poor. I put eye drops in my eyes every day and very often during that week’s holiday , hoping blue streaks would disappear.

I didn’t realise I had a minor stroke, some of my left eye blood vessels had burst. I was not familiar with medical facilities in Scotland. What I should have done was go to the nearest hospital ( Glasgow, I think) immediately and sought medical help.

I kept cleaning my left eye with eye drops. I am 68 years old. I think strokes usually only happen to older people.

I continued my 1 week holiday with part of my left eye vision obscured by this light blue streaks. I could see around the borders of my left eye.

I contacted my surgery the next day I reached home at the end of my 1 week holiday, explained my left eye symptoms online. Was told to contact eye clinic in my local hospital. I was told to attend eye clinic straight away. Given lots of tests. I must say that my local hospital gave me excellent service. Given strong aspirin to thin my blood. Told that I should have gone to seek medical help straight away in Glasgow as soon as I had the blue streaks in my left eye vision ( I had a mild first stroke)

After eye clinic tests, I was accelerated to see a specialist consultant who told me my blood pressure was too high. She changed my medication to a weaker dose of aspirin, gave me lansoprazole and amlodipine.

I am lucky because my left eye blue streaks reduced with the medication. That meant using both eyes ,I no longer can see the smaller blue streaks in my left eye. The smaller streaks have moved towards the inner part of my vision where I  am no longer aware of the remaining blue streaks. Using both eyes, my vision seems normal now. I try to walk half hour every day like I used to. This walking is essential to one’s health. It prevented me from any part of my body being impaired during my mild first stroke.
when I asked around my contemporaries, it looks as if my age group friends all suffer from some kind of mild stroke symptoms. I think we just put up with the pain of moving around slower.
Both the hospital eye specialist and blood pressure specialist said I dodged a bullet because I am recovering from my first mild stroke.
old age comes to all of us …..

2025 was huge for me and my new wife.  After 6 years of saving and planning we escaped to Sri Lanka in secret and got married. We toured the county, by far the best place we ever visited and unlikely to ever be beaten, for a week before getting married in a converted fortress on the beach - my wife’s dream wedding.  We then honeymooned in the Maldives for a week before announcing the big news to our friends & family, who somehow didn’t even realise we were in a different country. We saved for nearly 6 years so that we weren’t going to be in any debt after our dream holiday and it was definitely worth it. In fact, we did all of the above the less that the price of an average single day UK wedding and I would highly recommend a private wedding abroad to anyone who’s thinking of doing it.

I was incredibly proud to have taken a big step in my career and started looking at the next roles that are available and possible for me. Refined my CV, applied for jobs, had interviews and, though ultimately unsuccessful so far, it's a great feeling to know that I am very close to that next step. In the coming year, I will be pursuing that further and pushing myself that little bit further to finally gain the successful outcome I desire and ensure I actually get the role next time!

It's an exciting and happy time even with being knocked back but it's another step along the road.

My proudest and happiest moment was not giving up and getting myself back on my feet after a year of heartbreak and pain. In January, I lost my health to an unknown virus which left me crippled. In April/May, I realised that my health crisis was more serious that I thought, and that returning to work was not going to be something I could do anytime soon, and that Chronic Fatigue was possibly the cause. In July, I found out that the landlord needed to sell the house we were renting due to health reasons. In August my sick pay ran out and the last of my money was running out fast. I lost my wife of 15 years and kids to divorce, and had to spend the month alone clearing the entire house, weeping bitterly everyday as picking up old photos and toys from when my children were babies flooded my heart with bittersweet memories, all the while my body is in agony from having to clear the house with my failing health. The end of August saw me having an emotional and mental breakdown, where my parents, at the request of emergency services had to come and take me from the house to live with them because I had nothing left to give. I spent the next month or two in a spiral of deep depression, believing that my only purpose was to let my family cash in on my life insurance. I'd gone from having great health, a great job, a great income, a great family, a great home, to having nothing but misery, a body that didn't work anymore, debt that had accrued from me been out of work, and no prospect of ever been able to work again. But I didnt give up, my children needed me to be strong so I kept fighting. Now I'm slowly, but surely getting better, taking one step at a time, I'm able to exercise and hopefully get myself into work part time, and I will keep going until I get myself back to full strength because I love my children.

This year I had racked up the courage to quit a horrible job in the care sector with long hours and little pay and after job hunting for almost a full year I got a much better job, still in the care sector but working half the amount at double the pay, and honestly the change has done wonders for my mental state.

I guess that is the best part of my 2025 as bland as it may seem.
