Always set a clear budget and for bigger purchases such as insurance make sure to run comparisons to get the best and never take the renewal quotation price even if you want to stay with the existing plan.

I am shopping around and only buying stuff I really need. Selling unwanted items through selling sites helps, bring back some cash, I went trough my spends and cut down on things not necessarily, because sometimes we buying staff only because on sale.

When searching for a second hand item, don’t search for items for sale, where you will be competing with others, instead advertise yourself - item wanted. This will prompt people who may have the item you want, without any competition. This may provide you with choice and better bargaining power.

My bank account sent me a run down of where my money went in the past year, and boy was I shocked. It was a real reality check!  I’m going to stop being so generous to others and stop ordering takeaways! I’m dumb as I shop around supermarkets, use cashback sites, use vouchers etc….then I’ll buy a take away or buy someone a gift or give someone some money! I’m too soft! Wake up time!

I think that every so often you have to just create a spreadsheet showing all incoming and outgoing funds. This really helps and you know where you could cut back and budget better for the coming months.

Freeze reduced items.

use Quidco.

use the Petrol ⛽️ Prices app

use the Trolley app on branded essentials

Give yourself a set amount of cash, actual cash every month that is spending money. Pay all essential bills online, shop online for food and everything else cash. Once that cash is gone. No more misc spending

My favourite money saving tip is to get free holiday accommodation by pet sitting. There are websites that have beautiful houses all over the world. I’ve stayed in some amazing places and had the company of lovely cats and dogs.

Sorry I have a few if it's ok to share 🙂 Feeling quite food orientated this evening.

By local and freeze, also if you like your herbs grow and freeze. Surprising what you can grow in a small home. You only use what you need and not waste. Don't need to fancy things to it. Loads of YouTube videos out there.

Like a lot of people have said already budget and bulk buy from places where you can.

If you have like minded friends and family why not bulk buy good quality food together especially locally of course☺️.

Grow and trade especially if you cook seasonally. ---this is what I would say is my main tip and would like to encourage more.

For NHS and other healthcare services even volunteers make use of your offers. There are a lot of you who are not told what is out there which is a great shame. Please research and ask your HR.

Take care All🤗

Search for reduced fresh food items going out of date in your favourite supermarket - check on the label that they are suitable for home freezing - if so, buy them and put in your freezer. You will also save money on the running costs for your freezer by keeping it full with your reduced goodies, as less energy is used if you are not trying to keep the air in a half empty freezer at -18C.

I always use comparison sites before making any purchasing on things such as broadband, insurance and mobile phones, many of which offer incentives too. I also save a substantial amount of money by buying frozen fruit and veg which actually has more nutrients anyway! I tend to batch cook too and freeze meals which is very cost effective. Whenever I can, I walk places instead of using my car to save fuel and keep fit.

I batch cook a lot of food off then freeze it. Saves time, energy, gas, electricity and it lowers my food shop.
I always buy yellow labels on food and freeze (saving the planet)

I buy loads of veg when on offer, par boil then freeze. I have lowered my food waste by 70%

I lights candles in an open space to create heat in the winter and use plenty of blankets. Shut the curtains to keep the heat in and saves having to put the heating on so much. I always turn every switch off when an electronic isn’t in use.
im a single mum and out of work at the moment so always looking at ways to save money. I use plug in LED lights to save electricity too or battery operated lanterns

I freeze milk in ice cube trays so I never have milk that runs out or goes OOD

Make a budget for everything and keep track of spending on a budgeting app and check your budgets monthly. Set time aside each month to go through it all and make sure your spending is on track.

Set up a good heating schedule and to save money in winter buy under sheet electric blankets so you don't need any heating overnight.

Keep an eye on when you can switch deals so you're always getting the best price.

Look into whether your current account could be earning you cashback on spending.

Don't waste money on luxury vehicles, have something reliable but ultimately they get you from A to B so it's not worth overspending on if there are other things you could be spending that money on.

Having a sim only from ID mobile has saved me quite a few ££ while I’ve been with them.

But I guess most of you know that one already 👍

Hive radiator valves are saving me a fortune in heating oil.I only heat the rooms I use and the ones I use are accurately monitored. So far this year I’ve saved 750litres of heating oil.A plumber friend told me manual adjustable radiator valves are next to useless for controlling heat.

Few things I like to use: cooking meals at home of restaurants you would want to go to, expanding the culinary skills another one is limiting impulse buys, waiting a week or so and if I still think I need it or have use for it then purchasing

When you boil that morning kettle for your Tea

Pour the remainder into a flask..hey presto..hot water for the next cuppa. No boiling another kettle.

Make a spreadsheet of all your income and necessary outgoings so you know how much available cash you have

Try the one-week rule: When you want to buy something that's not essential, wait one week and see how you feel about it then. This reduces impulse buying.
