Device Testing:

As our 5G network continues to be rolled out, the list of devices will continue to grow every time a new 5G enabled device is released and the more devices we start to test. Check back to this article regularly so you don’t miss out.

I’ve just switched to iD - very happy with the 5G speed in York. I’ve just run a speed test on my iPhone 15 Plus and I’m getting 718Mbps down and 31.4 up. Much faster than GiffGaff (runs on O2) or my Virgin fibre broadband.

Their website advertising was misleading. The Advertising Standards Authority issued them with extra guidence about the information on the site. I was conned. The website now says that you only get 5g with phones on the approved list, in the small print. ID Mobile uses the Three network. I get a perfect 5g signal with a Smarty sim, which also uses the Three network. I will dump ID Mobile at the end of the contract and switch back to Smarty, which offers unrestricted 5g access.

I got Nokia xr20 that is 5g

Why is it not list.

Because spec

Says 5g compatible

This why signed up I'd mobile .

And I think I can't get 5g signal on it

This false advertisment and wouldn't signed up to this SIM if true

Unfortunately, this is not correct. ID Mobile requires 5g, WiFi calling and VoLTE to be enabled in order to receive a 5g signal. VoLTE is disabled for phones not on the list. The list is a blocking list for phones not on it. I have two 5g phones; one on the list and one which isn't. Side by side on the table in front of me one phone gets 5g and the other doesn't. The so-called approved list is actually a blocking list.

I have an iPhone 14 Pro so wonder why I don’t when they tell me I should, all I get is 3 bar of 4g at times but mainly only 2 bars yet in other places I get 4-5 bar of 5g around the town

They are using a so-called approved handset list to restrict access to the 5g network. You might have a 5g phone, but, if it's not on the list, you won't get a 5g signal.

You tell me I now have 5g on my phone at my post code, this is not true as it’s just about 4g or do I need to wait longer?

Userlevel 1

That's very poor.

Userlevel 1

I barely get 3g...

Userlevel 1

Slim list… hopefully it reaches the Galaxy A90 5G soon so I can be tempted back to iD (although curious if anyone has any luck with it on unsupported devices - Wifi Calling/VoLTE worked fine even though this phone isn’t on the list)

Same here. It's very annoying to have a compatible

phone which is effectively blocked because it's not on an "approved" list. Misleading advertising.

Hi @Impossiblegirl44

The Honor 70 Lite is supported on our network, however it’s unconfirmed whether it’ll support 5G while on an iD Mobile SIM card.

Hi is the honor 70 lite 5G phone compatible please?

Hey @BigDaddyUK

New devices are being tested regularly and we’re keeping our list up to date.

Given we’ve got the other Samsung models, I’d expect the S23 to be added also but keep your eyes peeled here for updates. 😊

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra not in a list!! )))

Thank you Tom.

I can't really justify marking it as 'Most helpful ' as you haven't answered my query. No timeline on when they are likely to be added. I never had such issues when I was with Three or Smarty.

Looking at some of the previous queries closely related to this but from over a year ago...those 5G phones are yet to be added.

Frustrating that'll be more likely for me to reach my 12 month anniversary with ID Mobile than it's likely to be of my phone being added to the list.....then it'll be PAC code and away.😢

Hi @Bleddyn Owen Barry

I’m sorry to hear you’re disappointed with our services, any updates to 5G compatibility will be added to the list when we can add them.

This element of ID mobile is the only aspect that lets it down. I have a Realme 7 5G phone.

I previously used Smarty..that also uses the Three network with no such issues. I could use the 5G network with no issues.

Now I'm with ID mobile, no option to use 5G despite the phone being 5G and frustrating that I'm at the mercy of when ID mobile will complete the compatibility for my phone😢😢

Extremely disappointing as recently Three have turned on the 5G in my area and turned off the 3G and the 4G signal has got worse😭

Please hurry up with the testing🤔🤔🤔

Hi @Luis M Ruiz

We certainly do not block features on phones that have not gone through the network approval process; however, we cannot guarantee that all features (such as 5G), will function on phones that have not gone through testing.

All phones need to go through extensive testing before being approved to be used on the iD network - unfortunately, i’m not sure of the technical reasoning behind why all phones that are compatible on Three’s network aren’t compatible on iD.

Thanks,

Nikhil

Why are there no REALME phones on the list?

Thanks

Hey @Luis M Ruiz

Thanks for your post.

realme is not currently stocked by iD Mobile - we currently only test phones for network compatibility that we stock, or have stocked. At the moment realme does not appear to be in the iD Mobile pipeline.

Thanks,

Nikhil

Okay @Nikhil P - iD Mobile stock & sell the iPhone 14 on contract and SIM Free, and yet it’s not listed in as one of iD’s 5G compatible devices, which have been tested & approved for use on the iD Mobile 5G network, along with VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling.

Why isn’t the iPhone 14 listed as supported for 5G?

My REALME X50 5G (clue in the name) doesn't work with 5g on ID but did when I was with Three. Given that you use the three network are you blocking phones you don't sell?

@Yelloperil,

Unfortunately we don’t have timescales for new devices to be added.

We would advise keeping an eye out on the list as it’s being updated regularly.
