To get a label off and there’s a sticky mess left behind that won’t budge, use a little baby oil to ease things along. Or WD40 is great to, not just for sticking joints but ace to remove sticking residue!

For floors I use Method All floor Cleaner - one step-clean and Gleam.  The Lavender and Wild Rhubarb smell good on the kitchen floor.

Natural cleaners are good for me and the environment.

Only use your washing machine’s quick wash on lightly stained items and only when your machine is about 40% full.

Longer washes allow the enzymes to break down oil\grease and stains and for the detergent itself to be washed away leaving no residue.

Tidy small things as you go at times like when waiting for the kettle to boil or tea to brew, to stop messes getting too big, whether that is your countertop or mobile running out of space for backups.

Having a spot cleaner is really handy for getting rid of small stains on carpets, rugs & upholstery such as accidentally spilled food/drink & pet accidents.  They wash & remove the stain out of the carpet, rug or upholstery which is much better than scrubbing by hand.

The best way is to use hot water + dish soap + time. Allowing the chemistry to do the work saves me from scrubbing the grease and reduces the physical effort needed as well as protecting surfaces. Add baking soda for burnt-on food and white vinegar for limescale - works every time!

My ultimate digital cleaning hack for freeing up phone storage: I use an original Google Pixel 1! I automatically sync photos from my main phone to the old Pixel using the DriveSync app. Since the first-generation Pixel has lifetime unlimited uploads, all my photos go straight to Google Photos for free. It keeps my main phone's storage completely clutter-free without paying for extra cloud space!

To descale a kettle boil four or five wedges of lemon in the kettle until it gently boils. Turn off and leave overnight. It is so effective at clearing the limescale. Just rinse out the next morning. No horrible chemicals or aftertaste.

Use white vinegar on glass and in general in the kitchen. It works wonders on doggy nose art and is safe to use near my fish tanks.

My favourite tool for cleaning the shower and windows is the Karcher Window Vac, it leaves the shower screen and all the windows streak free and no mess to clear up. Love it.
