One of my favourite places to walk is along the river and around the lake at West Stow, Suffolk. A beautiful place to walk and enjoy the changing seasons.

My favourite walk is in North Devon, in a village called Morte Ho. It is over National Trust land and follows the coastline around the rocky point along the Coastal Path. You can see seals in the water and all sorts of Birdlife.

Amazing scenery, whatever the weather!

My favorite used to be from Bowthorpe to Conley in Norwich through the woods and in the middle have cheeky chats with the horses that keep the fields tidy

A Walk on the South West Coast Path
Choosing a favorite hike in England is tough, but the South West Coast Path holds a special place in my heart. It's the longest national trail in the country, stretching for 630 miles from Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset. While I haven't completed the entire thing, the section I walked was simply unforgettable.
My chosen route was a three-day trek from St Ives to Zennor and then further along the coast. This part of the path in Cornwall is rugged and wild. It's a challenging walk with lots of steep ascents and descents, but the reward is immense. The views are absolutely spectacular, with dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, and the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean constantly by your side.
What I loved most about this hike was the feeling of being completely immersed in nature and history. We passed ancient tin mines clinging to the cliffs, their ruined engine houses standing as silent monuments to Cornwall's industrial past. We also saw an incredible amount of wildlife, from seals sunbathing on the rocks below to various seabirds soaring on the thermals. The landscape changes constantly, from open moorland to narrow, rocky paths that hug the coastline.
The hike culminated in Zennor, a tiny hamlet with a famous pub, The Tinners Arms. After a long day of walking, a pint and a hearty meal in a 700-year-old pub felt like the perfect end to the day. The quiet, peaceful atmosphere of the village was a stark contrast to the wild energy of the coast.
It was more than just a walk; it was an adventure that felt both physically demanding and incredibly rewarding. The South West Coast Path truly showcases the raw, untamed beauty of the English coastline, and I can't wait to go back and explore another section.
:) 😀 😃 🙂 🙃

I buy the OS map 1:25000 when I go to an area more frequently, you can then use the code to download this map to your phone. Gamechanger!

Quite often there are OS Maps sales on that will make it cheaper.

Favourite walk nearby is Nettleton Top.

Slightly further is most walks at North York Moors

The South Downs Way is an absolute must for a multi day walk. Beautiful rolling downsland and some great rural views north across Sussex.

My favourite hike was walking 26 miles from Salisbury to Stonehenge and back with my daughter in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society on their Trek26 walk (and raising over £1000). Unfortunately my current smart watch (named after an orchard fruit 🍎 😉) did not have the battery life to last the whole walk, so looking for a new watch with better battery life. Winning this would be ideal.

A walk along the Purbeck coast never fails to lift my spirits. Usually lovely blue sea and sky to contrast with cliffs and grassy green fields. However even more spectacular when mist rolls up from the sea or stormy clouds race over head.

Me and my partner like walks down the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal. Where we like to take in the wild life from ducks to kingfishers and everything else in between. We truly love our time and sometimes feel like were in a different world where we can just relax.

I go to the Lake District with the family every year. Highlight of the trip is the Hawkshead trail from Hawkshead to Tarn Hows where there is a beautiful Tarn and a nice place to break from the 3/4 hour hike

Rivington Pike. Lovely local walk and there’s a reservoir too. Top it off there’s a lovely cafe/tuck shop called The Pike Shack at the top where you can get a range of treats for you and your dog.

In less than a mile from our front door I can be up on the wild and windy moors which inspired the Bronte sisters (and Kate Bush!). It is a wonderful place to wander or just sit and take in the environment and nature at any time of the year,  I just love it.
