The Forth and Clyde Canal towpath from Bowling Basin as far as you like back towards Glasgow is a favourite with our kids and dog for both walking and cycling, but since my daughter and I have taken up ‘trig bagging’  we’ve found ourselves in all sorts of new places with all sorts of spectacular views!

We live in a small village in Ford End Essex and we have some stunning walks by the river through some interesting woods!

Favourite hike is up to the top of Stickle Tarn in the Lake District.

Relatively easy, up a waterfall... Views are tremendous. And a pub at the bottom in the return

I love walking in and around the Sychnant Pass in North Wales.  I am very lucky to live close by and can see the changing seasons shape the scenery.  There are breath-taking views across Snowdonia, Anglesey, Puffin Island, Conwy and the Great Orme.  As Part of the walk one can walk up Conwy Mountain (Mynydd y Dref) which is a little over 800 feet.  From the top of the Sychnant Pass, where you can park, it is not a too demanding walk to the top. Once there you encounter an Iron Age hillfort of Castell Caer Seion with spectacular views including Conwy and the Conwy Estuary.

I love walking around the Isle of Axholme, home of the Vermuyden Way. I'm looking to complete the Vermuyden way later this year.

Unfortunately where I am in Scotland I am faced with so many places to visit and explore

I have however managed to narrow it down to 3 places close to where I live and there are : The Falkirk Wheel , The Kelpies and South Queensferry.

Our little family enjoy walks in the Peak District. We have visited a few places and one of our favourites is Dovedale and the surrounding area. There is something for everyone there. If you can only walk on the flat then you can choose a short or longer walk along the side of the river Dove. For those who are more able there are more difficult climbs Including Thorpe Cloud. There are caves at Dove holes and many more things to see there. You could spend the whole day there and not get to see it all.

Favourite walk is Steall Falls in Scotland! I'm not sure how to attach a picture here but its where parts of Harry Potter were filmed and is a stunning waterfall next to Ben Nevis.

Favourite hike - has to be “Burnsall to Grassington circular”. A family friendly riverside walk, looping through the beautiful Yorkshire village of Grassington and back over the hill to the equally beautiful bridge at Burnsall.

A paddle in the river is always welcome on a warm day!

I always used to love the trail along Hadrian's wall that went over Sycamore Gap past the Robin Hood tree but I'll admit I haven't visited since the tree got chopped down, don't think I ever will so I can keep it the way it was in my mind.

It has to be walking the coastal paths in Wales.  Absolutely stunning especially when I see dolphins.

My favourite walk is the The South Downs Way. Maybe not all in one go as it is too far for my old legs. It goes through some fabulous towns and villages. The views from on top of the downs are some of the best in the UK

The Quiraing landform (in the Isle of Skye) feels like Middle-earth! While we were parked up in our motorhome, a sheep wandered over and started scratching its bum on our picnic table like it had booked a spa day. Lunch was on hold until our new friend was done with its full-body exfoliation.

My favourite walk is through Hardcastle Crags near Hebden Bridge, especially when the Bluebells are flowering as they create a wonderful carpet of colour.

It never fails to refresh my soul xx
