Hi my wife has a switch to id date tomorrow…the new sim has arrived with a new number despite me submitting a pac code when ordering…is this correct? Will it switch the number to the old one tomorrow when the Vodafone service stops or do I need to contact id?

thanks

Hi there @Stephen Cox

When you first join iD and they send a SIM out it has a provisional phone number allocated to it (AFAIK all providers have to do this). iD know about your wifes number but until its under their control (so to speak) they can’t give that SIM your wifes number.

So when Vodafone kill off the service that number then goes from the port state and thus her number then ‘jumps’ to that SIM.

But to answer your question you shouldn’t have to contact them.

No problem @Stephen Cox

Whilst you’re waiting it would be advisable to read through this:

As due to Three UK switching off 3G, and iD Mobile piggyback on Three, some of us have been having some issues making and receiving calls. At least you’d be already aware. The crux of the matter is having 4G or LTE but either needing VoLTE.

Should you have any issues (hopefully not) once your wife’s SIM goes live with iD, pop back and one of us will see what we can do to help.

Hi @Stephen Cox

As suggested above, all iD Mobile plans begin with a new, random number before processing a transferred number, after that transfer, the originally assigned number would be made redundant.

Thanks for the help here @Daz_S.

Hi there @Nilantha

When filling out sections what often happens is that if you use auto fill it leaves a space and this can cause issues.

For example - you start typing in your email address and the phone has remembered this. When you click on the already filled out email and it shows on the section you are typing out it leaves a space after your email. So check to see if your phone is leaving spaces after filling out each section.

@Nilantha

Just adding to my above reply.

Another person has just reported the same issue here  -

So with that in mind @Matthew T is there something wrong at your end?
