A new customer to ID. I cant send or receive text messages

I have run through the fixes recommended for other users with this issue but in my settings-network

I'm getting.

phone number ..unknown

mobile network status.. disconnected

Please Help..

Is the issue only with SMS, or calls and data also?

Hi Tyler

I have an honor 9 lite.

calls and data don't seem to be a problem.

I have had a couple of text messages through, from my answer phone telling me I have a new message , but 24 hours late.

Hey there ​@Janeldavies, please try the following:

 

1) Open Messages, go to Settings (top right, Message Settings), open "Chat Features" or "RCS Chats", verify if this is the correct number or not.

2) If it shows the incorrect one, then head to: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and you should be able to unregister the number. Once done, turn off the Chat Features/RCS and the phone. Wait a few minutes and turn the device back on and re-enable Chat Features/RCS it should let you re-register/update to the correct number.

Alternatively, you can turn Chat Features/RCS off and test SMS after this.

Hi Tyler. I have opened settings in messages. I don't have anything there regards chat features or rcs? I think after looking online about this, I don't have such an up to date messaging system.

I’ve done that , no change. my phone number is still “unknown” and messages are still hours late. no good if you have to have a text message to log onto certain sites. I'm thinking of moving to another company to be honest as this issue isn't going away.
