I can't receive calls, the phone app does not come up, and if I try the notifications then "answer" doesn't respond.
If I make a call, I can't hang up other than rebooting. The phone app just goes black.
Has been happening for a few weeks now.
Any suggestions, other than factory reset? I've tried a couple of alternative dialler apps.
Huawei P20 Lite.

It certainly sounds like an issue with the handset itself.
If you have tried all other options I would advise a factory reset which will delete all data and settings.
However if you still have warranty you can contact Huawei directly for assistance.
