Ca't send SMS from overseas while roaming

I am overseas and trying to reply to an sms from my bank to verify recent payments. It will not send.

I tried making a phone call and that goes through OK but the sms will not. 

Any suggestions welcome. I tried paying over my exisitng billing to create an account credit, that didn’t work. I am supposed to have unlimited sms messages and calls

Hi @Danbr123,

Welcome to the Community!

It sounds like you’ll need to increase your cap if your current cap is £0.

You may be charged for responding whilst abroad as it’s not a UK mobile number or landline.

I’ve spent the last hour trying to get through to live chat. It’s non existent 

I need help

The cap will not increase on my account and i need to reply to my bank. There is an option to increase the cap but it will not go above 0 GBP

What am I supposed to do

No reply in over 24 hours.

Finally spoke to live chat and there's nothing they can do to increase my cap apparently..

Bet frustrating and I'm unable to contact my bank while overseas as a result. 

 

Clearly there is a bug with the system that is preventing me from adding a cap spending on to my sim.

Did the team advise why they would not be able to increase the spend cap on the account?

She didn't know. She offered me £10 compensation which was nice, however she said I'd be contacted with an update soon. It's now been 48 hours and no developments.

Is there someone I can call to sort this please

What happens when you try to change the bill cap? Do you get an error?
