call forwarding to a foreign sim

Hi. I'll be out of the roaming area whilst abroad, can't afford the charges. Can I turn my id SIM off whilst having it forward my calls and SMS to another network ( Vietnamese) sim? Or esim? This would help me with SMS based 2 factor authorisation for some of my apps and accounts. Thanks.

Contact phone Google pixel 6a.

Hi @Barry3000

My best advise to avoid any charges while roaming is to simply put your bill cap in your iD Mobile account to £0, so that anything that would be chargeable, cannot be charged, therefore cannot be used.

FYI, an SMS is free-of-charge to receive anywhere in the world.

Have a good trip, @Barry3000

Hi! This is great info, thanks! I'll turn mobile data off my id SIM but keep it active, and any SMS received will not cost me a thing. What about if someone calls? would they be able to that? Or would be flagged up to them as an international call? If I don't answer am I not charged?

If you don’t answer calls, you won’t be charged.
