Possibly, try this first:

Just on yours FTTB. With the phone ON eject the SIM. Give it a few minutes then reinsert the SIM. Any good?

If not, try this:

(again just yours). Phone off, eject SIM. Switch phone on and allowing to fully boot. Reinsert SIM. Any good now?

If not, try this (and sorry for all of this thus far):

With the phone ON eject the SIM. Give it a few minutes then reinsert the SIM, allow it to show registered to iD, press and hold the power button, opt for a restart. Any good?

At least, AFAIK, having DS is at least something that sounds about right.
