Question

Calls drop off after 2 minutes

Both me and my wife have switched over to idmobile (Both E-Sims) recently. Both have the same phone (Pixel 9 XL Pro). Never had an issue on any other network but any time we make calls to another mobile calls cut off after 2minutes.

This has been trialled in numerous areas and numerous times of day. If we call any other mobile it cuts off after 2 minutes. Really frustrating as this has made the phones unusable.

Any solution to this ??

A Google search seems to suggest this might be an issue with the Android / Pixel 9 Pro combination, @sayeedamin

If so, maybe Google will patch Android with a fix.

considering I was on Vodafone without issues and the only thing thats changed is the switch to IDmobile I cant be blamed for assuming its an Issue with IDmobile?

Too make this worse, I had a call from IDmobile (From a mobile number), then got told I need to go through security and give them the verification number sent to my email which states:

”Remember, DO NOT share this code, and we'll never request this number from you over the phone.”

Not a great service so far

Hi @sayeedamin

We’re sorry to hear this, have you tried any troubleshooting methods? If so, please could you list them to avoid repetition.

Also, please could you confirm the iD Mobile contact number that contacted you?

Anika

I am afraid that does not look like a number we would use @sayeedamin

Have you completed a manual network reset on the handsets?

Sorry to hear that @sayeedamin. Would you be happy to try a free replacement SIM card to see if this helps?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hey there @sayeedamin, please find out how to get a replacement physical SIM or eSIM below:

Once you’ve got a new one and activated, please restart your phone. Then, please give it a few days to check for any improvement, and if no improvement, drop us another message.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hello,

I have had the same issue (calls hang around the 2-3min mark) with several Google pixel phones (7, 8a and 9a). First occured around the start of 2025. I bought the 9a directly from iD mobile aswell. It first occured on esim and I requested new ones and used in different phones but all had the same issue. I then asked for my account to be reset and I activated a physical SIM but the issue still persisted.

It dosen't matter who you call (different networks), it still has the same issue which suggests it's a fault with the iD/Three network and NOT the person you are calling.

Other people online have had the same issue with different brands (Motorola and Nothing for example) and on different networks (Like smarty). But the common denominator is that it only affects phones with the Google Dialer installed running on the Three network. It also dosent matter if the call is on VoLTE or Wi-Fi calling. The location doesn't matter either (Tested in London, Southampton, Slough, Wokingham etc)

I have been forced to switch to a Samsung s25 which dosen't exhibit any problems as it uses Samsung's own dialer. It's quite appalling that there are so many threads on this issue but it has not been resolved yet. With the Vodafone-Three merger starting, you would hope that they would even listen to their customers about critical network issues but no one at customer service has had the foresight to report this to higher ups -- Only suggesting things that haven't even worked for other people. Is there anyway for a moderator to bundle these threads together and escalate this? As my number is now stuck in a contract and I can't even use my Google Pixel which I prefer.
