CANNOT ACTIVATE SIM

GOT A NEW SIM FOR MY 87 YEAR OLD DAD, WHICH DIDN'T WORK, SO GOT A REPLACEMENT SIM SENT OUT BUT CANNOT ACTIVATE IT.  WELL I HAVE ACTIVATED IT AND GOT A CONFIRMATION EMAIL, BUT ACCORDING TO  CUSTOMER SERVICES (AND I USE THAT TERM VERY LOOSELY!) IT HASN'T BEEN ACTIVATED. I TRIED AGAIN (3 TIMES) BUT AM NOT GETTING THE PASSCODE SENT THROUGH TO THE EMAIL TO ACTIVATE THE SIM. 

HAVE SPENT SEVERAL HOURS BANGING MY HEAD AGAINST THE LIVE CHAT BRICK WALL WITH NO JOY. I TRIED TO SET HIM UP ON THE APP IN CASE THAT MIGHT HELP, BUT THEY SEND THROUGH A CODE BY TEXT TO ACTIVATE THIS!  HOW CAN MY DAD GET THIS TEXT WHEN THE SIM ISN'T WORKING??!!

VERY FRUSTRATED AND JUST WANT THIS SORTED. MY DAD HAS BEEN WITHOUT HIS PHONE FOR OVER A WEEK NOW, AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NO-ONE EVEN TRYING TO HELP US - BUT THEY WERE VERY QUICK TO TAKE THE MONTHLY CHARGE OUT OF THE BANK ALREADY!!

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED BECAUSE AT THIS POINT I'M ABOUT TO CANCEL BOTH OUR ACCOUNTS AND GO ELSEWHERE. i MEAN EVEN VODAFONE'S NOTORIOUSLY CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICES WERE BETTER THAN THIS!!!
