If I switch to the data line it works even though it is the same number

How many SIM / eSIM products are on the iPhone with your iD SIM, @Kkolin

When exactly did you switch from Three UK to iD Mobile?

I have one eSIM on my phone and switched from 3 on the 18th.

I have an unlimited calls and texts plan so do not really want to have the calls using up my data.

Is there a physical SIM in your iPhone, along with the eSIM, @Kkolin

Are you using an iD eSIM in your iPhone?

The eSIM was supplied by I’d.

Okay @Kkolin, if you can receive calls but cannot make calls, after your number transfer from Three UK to iD Mobile (18-Feb-2025), then your switch might not have been properly completed by iD.

It sounds as though it may be a split-port, which the iD switching team will need to fix.

When I toggle airplane mode back to on it shows in the top left hand corner no service on my primary line.

Looks like you’ve setup your iD eSIM as the secondary (data) line in your iPhone, @Kkolin

The iOS user guide explains how to change between primary and secondary, depending on your requirements.

Hello @Kkolin

Thank you for getting in touch.

We are very sorry to hear of the issues you are facing with the service.

Are you able to switch the iD Mobile eSIM to primary via the settings?

Please let us know if this helps.

The primary line number is showing correctly but does not work. The data on the same number works fine. When I select the primary line it shows three at the top of the screen. If I turn off automatic carrier selection id is not in the list of carriers

Any thoughts Natalie?

Okay @Kkolin, “Primary” and “Mobile Data” are just labels for the physical SIM and eSIM in your iPhone.

If I recall correctly, you’ve mentioned only having ONE active eSIM (iD Mobile), and no physical SIM in your iPhone - if yes, then only ONE SIM/eSIM should be shown in the iPhone Settings > Mobile Service section.

In addition, the mobile signal strength indicator system icon (in your screenshots) suggests you’ve got TWO active SIM products in your iPhone.

To confirm, i have no physical SIM. I was with three on an eSIM then switched to ID with an eSIM. Three have confirmed that the account is closed. If i have two active SIMs it can only be that the ID installation did not overwrite/install correctly. When i go settings/Mobile service, sims Primary it is still showing Three at the top of the screen. If i turn off that line im ok and can make calls.  Ive just deleted it and ill see what happens.

Did you delete the Three UK eSIM from your iPhone, @Kkolin

The screenshots show your iPhone is operating in dual SIM mode (i.e. 2 eSIM products).

Hello @Kkolin

Thanks for your reply.

As @andewhite has advised, can you please check if the Three UK eSIM is still showing in the handset settings?

Thanks,

Nat

Yes I have now deleted the Three eSIM. At first I assumed that Id just did it differently because the second sim was showing a different unrecognised number so I assumed that data was separate from primary. Then when my number was transferred I ended up with two lines on the same number one of which would not work. The one that was not working was my primary line the one I assumed was with Id as  my Three account had been shutdown.
I think we’re good now. 🤞

It wouldn’t be ideal if your service provider could delete an eSIM from your iPhone, @Kkolin

IMO, a service provider should only be able to deactivate an eSIM in your phone, the same way a physical SIM gets deactivated, when you switch networks or cancel your network account.

Hopefully your iD Mobile network services (calls, SMS texts, and mobile data) are properly working now.
