Been the same for me in Shropshire for the past few days, I've tried everything including putting sim in different phone. It's a nightmare trying to get any help from I'd, I've sent private message and no reply ! Think I'm going to change network....its a flippin joke. I hope you sort yours  .let me know if you do.

Took me over three hours to live chat. As the screen kept disappearing. They suggested to get a new sim. 
I will go to collect sim from Curry tomorrow. 
 

Hi, do this first. need to put your phone number in the setting + phone+ my number. And on setting + Mobil service + network selection, turn automatic off, choose ID. After these step. check it is work or not. 

If still not working, need to get a new sim.

I activated my new sim this morning. But it was not working either. I went back to Curry. They helped me to do the above steps. And it is  working now. I am not sure it might work if I knew how to change the above settings before new sim. 

You have a go first before get sim. Good luck.

I would advise testing a replacement SIM and hopefully it should fix the issue.
