Ok here's the low down plus I'm asking well in advance by the way.

Contact 2 year's phone and sim ported my number onto ID Mobile. When my contract is almost up I won't have to pay for my device and want to keep my sim only unlimited data. How do I go about to keep my own number and have a sim only pack? I may go for a 2 year sim deal. This wound mean a new account there must be a way to slipstream the change for ease as I don't want to loss my own number as I've read others have has lost their number doing an upgrade for this.

Thank you in advance.

Joe

@Tyler  Thank you so much  I am and was aware of the process but making double, double sure as I remember reading post on the same topic and some lost their number and others had two running contracts a while ago.

I've not been so active on here for a good number of months due to some project at work and different time zones.

Not only yourself @Tyler  but all members and staff that's reached out to me.

Thanks to all.. @andewhite @Natalie W

PS: keep up the good work

Joe 🙂

Just to say @JoeKing, an iD Mobile contract doesn’t end unless one of the parties decides to cancel the agreement, by giving the other party 30-days notice.

If your 24-month minimum term is approaching, then you could discuss your options with the iD telephone sales team by calling 020 7139 1397, between 9am - 6pm.

Otherwise, these community articles might help.
🤞

@andewhite  Thank you for your reply so I get what you're saying I would assume at the end of my 2 year contract or there abouts ID Mobile would or should adjust my rental to now show my unlimited data contract now? As I've know companies not to reflect the change after one's paid for the phone at the end of their contract.

Thank

Joe

Okay @JoeKing, with iD your contract isn’t broken-down into a per month phone payment, and monthly airtime payment.

Check your iD bills - I suspect phone and airtime are not shown separately.

With iD you need to change or upgrade at the end of your 24-month minimum term, otherwise the monthly payment stays the same. This is probably included somewhere within your contract terms & conditions.

Bottom line - if you do nothing, you’ll continue to pay same per month, despite having paid in-full for your phone.

Just as I thought I'll either port my number near the end of contract to another network for a short time and take out a Sim only contract and port my number back to ID mobile..

Thank for all your help @andewhite

Thank you @Natalie W on your reply it's just just to make sure that 1) I would not loose my number if Upgrade to a sim only plan. Or just took out a sim only plan. It would be Unlimited data over 24months something like £16 or £18 p/m sim only. Actually price can't remember.

2) It would save me doing a 3way port if I had to leave ID Mobile and come back again to get that deal.

3) Just resurreassurance of the whole process of what's involved  once I'm out of contract and just wanting to keep my number which I brought to IDMobile and get the new sim package when I'm ready. By the way I have like 7 months or so left.

Thank you.

Joe

Hey @JoeKing, no problem at all.

If you order an upgrade via the iD Mobile app/website via the “Upgrades” tab when logged in, or via calling our sales team, you’ll keep your same number.

If you order a new, separate plan from us directly or via a third party, then you’d either lose your number, or need to complete the three way, triangle port.

I hope that all makes sense and let us know if any further questions.

Thank you,

Tyler
