Currys £100 Voucher Nightmare!

Hi,

Yesterday I received the £100 currys voucher as part of the Google Pixel 8a offer back in October.

I went online tonight to order a Nintendo Switch as our son wants this for Christmas, as you can imagine having a £100 voucher as part payment is a big financial help to us this year as money is tight.

I added the switch to the basket and went to the payment page, added the voucher which was accepted. I entered the correct card details and tried to pay but the website said payment couldn’t be taken and to try again. I did so a couple more times but the same error appeared.

I emptied the basket, closed the browser and tried again. When entering the voucher codes again it now shows ‘insufficient funds’ and the voucher amount has been redeemed so now stands at £0! :(

I am so upset, has anyone else experienced this? Can someone please help? We have no order processed so why has the voucher amount been used?

Many thanks.

Hi Char, yes it was resolved. Currys were very good. If you explain the situation via live chat they will ask for the gift card details and pass it over to the gift voucher team for them to sort.

Within a couple of days the £100 was back on our card ready to use towards our son's Xmas present. Needless to say I went into the shop and used the gift card! I get the impression it happens a lot with their website.

Hi there @woody252506

As the code would have had a serial number I would assume Currys would see it was redeemed and where - during the purchase. But they should also see the transaction didn’t complete. I would be shocked if they don’t resolve this tomorrow.

I quick look gives these contact methods for Currys on this link:

https://www.currys.co.uk/help-and-support.html#contact

(note their support opening times on the above)

Others may offer better advice.

Thanks for the quick reply @Daz_S .

We got through via webchat on the currys website and they have confirmed that the issue is with the gift card team and the amount should be refunded within 48-72 hours.

I just hope they do and that this doesn’t turn into a saga! :(

Well that’s good to hear @woody252506

🤞(fingers crossed)

Might be a bit late, unless they email the chat content, but maybe screenshot the chat just in case.

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday whilst trying to spend my £100 voucher on a new toothbrush. Payment kept not processing and then my voucher is now still £0 despite the transaction not going through!

Did you get it resolved? X
