Data not registering

My son’s phone said it ran out of data about 3 weeks ago. He never has an id warning (which is setup) and the app says he has 100 Gb available. He turned his data off and into the new month he still has no data available. I event added 100 Gb on the app. His data did not increasing on the app and his phone still shows out of data.

 

is there anything I need to do to get his data working again. On the phone side I have rebooted the phone and taken out and cleaned the sim.

Is the data warning seen a device one? It may be worth checking the device settings in this case.
