Different number

My wife has recently joined ID and got a PAC from EE to keep her old number. All seems fine unless she is messaging me. I get a notification from the ID SIM number that was supplied before the switch took place. 

Everyone else she messages gets the number from the old number she kept.

I couldn't find the chat features in the guide you posted for me to follow. I tried turning off the RCS messaging on her phone and that seems to have done the trick.

Thanks Mathew. I'll try that when I get home from work. It seems odd that everyone but me gets the number she had with the old provider.

The Mrs is using a Nord plus one and mine is a Pixel 8.

Hello 

When I phone someone my number on there phone is OK, when I text them, it comes up with another number. Need this sorting out asap.

Hey there ​@Adenston, please try the following:

 

1) Open Messages, go to Settings (top right, Message Settings), open "Chat Features" or "RCS Chats", verify if this is the correct number or not.

2) If it shows the incorrect one, then head to: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and you should be able to unregister the number. Once done, turn off the Chat Features/RCS and the phone. Wait a few minutes and turn the device back on and re-enable Chat Features/RCS it should let you re-register/update to the correct number.

 

Alternatively, you can turn Chat Features/RCS off and test SMS after this.
