eligible for upgrade sim only

I can take the 50gb data sim only upgrade, have 30gb data sim only at present

it’s a bit unclear, would I lose my number?

Hi there @lappingitup

No, you should keep the number as you’re only upgrading. The only thing that changes is the data allowance on the account. Same phone same SIM, just data

Ah ok , it just says in stock for immediate delivery so I wasn’t sure if they were referring to a new SIM

Hang on a mo @lappingitup are you 100% sure you’re on the right page?

Sounds like you’re on an upgrade to PHONE and SIM page?

What’s the URL?

edit @lappingitup

You should see any upgrade available to your sim either via the app or their online portal.

It’s the free delivery and in stock now that’s confusing me

I’ve spotted something. That’s a 12 month SIM only contract. Are you currently on a month to month or a fixed term deal at the moment.

Even so the bit you read saying in stock for immediate delivery is either bad wording or something else is going on here. **@lappingitup  edit yes that looks like bad formatting/wording to me but await clarification**

Personally, sit back, think about if you want to tie yourself in for 12 months (if you’re currently not) and maybe wait for a staff member to take a look before you commit to anything.

If it transpires it is badly worded and iD confirm this, and you want to stick with iD for 12 months, then go for it.

Hopefully one of them will read this tomorrow and give you an answer.

I’m on a sim only contract at the moment, I just downloaded the new app and the upgrade was available from 30gb to 50gb data

it looks all good but I’m not wanting a new sim and number!

Is that a 1 month deal (like PAYG as you can leave when you like) or are you on a minimum 12 month term (whereby you’re essentially stuck with them for 12 months or a portion there of)?

Yes I’ve been spending some time on that newer app at present, and for the most part the offers are not too bad, though I (now but for other reasons) will be sticking to a 1 month deal.

But yes to confirm you should retain your existing number and I really can’t see why they’d need to issue another SIM - the SIM is only there for allocated your number, ‘it’ doesn’t care how long its in use for.

Hey there @lappingitup, welcome to Community!

If you’re looking to upgrade, you’ll need to go to the “Upgrades” tab via the iD Mobile app/website, and choose one of those that state upgrade.

As long as you upgrade, you’ll keep your same number.

Thanks,

Tyler

What about the wording though @Tyler, it states Free 1 Day Deliver and then states In stock (look at the last image posted).

It does, well IMHO, sound wrong as it give the impression ‘something’ is being sent out.

Just saying 😉

Hi @lappingitup,

If you see the upgrade now button it would mean that you have followed the upgrade method.

Depending on how old the SIM is we may send out a replacement SIM and it seems that the wording is an error on the app.

If you are unsure you can call our Sales Team on 0207 1391 397 and see if there are any other deals that may interest you.

Hey there @Daz_S, the in-stock message on the upgrade is shown via all our plans on our website, and simply shows that the plan is available to purchase.

The “Free 1-day delivery” part advises that if a new SIM card is to be sent out, then it should be sent out next day to the customer. But that’s only if a new SIM card is sent out, which usually doesn’t happen.

We apologise if any wording or phrasing if confusing.

Thanks,

Tyler

Thanks also @Tyler for that.

I guess, you’d either be really happy or panic, if the SIM only deals started showing as non in stock!

Anyhoo, not being picky!!!😉
