emergancy calls no texts unable to set up id app


Good Morning, I purchased a pixel 9 for my son and although he has WiFi he can’t send or receive calls and texts. I did the switch with the PAC and he has kept his old number. I read to go on app however I can’t set this up as his phone is not receiving texts it accepts the details but we don’t get the code. Please Help!

Hi there ​@NinaForan 

It sounds like you may have put the iD SIM in too early and the phone has retained the provisional iD mobile number.

Read the lower part of this link, from most other Android phones:

Then see if things start working

Did you buy this phone direct from iD Mobile ​@NinaForan?

If you didn’t then it might be because the phone is locked to another network. Some websites appear to be selling non UK phones.

If you did and thus far you can’t get it working, you could pop down to Currys for 2 reasons - 1 being to let them look at the phone and 2 to obtain a replacement SIM.

 

If the phone was from iD, is less than 12 months old, and Currys check it and find the phone is faulty, they can sort the warranty out and replace that phone.

Also if they recommend a replacement SIM (I already would suggest trying this) this also may fix the phone issue.

Ooooh. Well if he’s aged between 8 and 14 he was probably just excited - 14 to 16 not paying attention - 16 to 18 a borderline know it all or over 18 with a full UK driving licence don’t give him your car keys as he’ll probably try and get in the wrong car!

Anyway, glad to hear its sorted.
