As an existing 3 mobile customer can I use ID sim as broadband only in my existing 3 mobile router home and away

Hi @John Lejkowski, welcome to the community!

We don’t officially support using an iD SIM in a mobile router. However, while we can’t guarantee this would work, there are many users who use an iD SIM card this way successfully.

Exactly how did you do this first time. Do you just insert sim and that's it or does it require some form of regonuruon procedure.

Yesterday I read here that you have to transpose the new sim to another device E g. a mobile phone but what one does there I didn't grasp.??

Hey there @mikehallam, the SIM card should come activated already when purchased.

However, if not, or it’s a replacement SIM card, and needs activating, it’ll need activating in a handset device first, before transferring it over to the other device.

As mentioned however, we don’t officially support the usage of our SIM outside our approved handsets, so it could be the case that it won’t work at all in your device, in which case we apologise if that’s the case.

Thank you,

Tyler
