Just joined ID and a problem I have encountered with my I phone 12…. When getting a call my phone only rings 4 times before voice mail cuts in. Have tried the various instructions on here to extend the number of rings but all to no avail. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi there @bmwboy

By default, the ringer should last 30 seconds before your voicemail kicks in.

I’m not sure why yours is only 4 rings unless you’ve somehow changed it. But I’d check the setting or possibly try reducing the time and then set it back to 30 seconds (this is the maximum time btw).

You need to dial 61*123 followed by the number of seconds you'd like it to ring for and then add a # symbol to the end.

For example, to change the time to 15 seconds, you will have to dial the following 61*12315#. Then give it a test call and then set it back to 30 seconds - 61*12330#

Hi Daz S and thanks for the suggestion. I’m afraid I followed your advice and I just got … Error message, so that didn’t work.

I followed the instructions from I D and there suggestion was similar to yours but with different numbers and more stars and that didn’t work either except I got a screen with various messages saying I had successfully altered various instructions on my phone.

Thanks and will keep plugging away😂

Oh well, it was worth a shot I guess.

You could try turning voicemail off for around 24 hours (via the id account app or portal) and then switching back on to see if this helps or not. Failing that I wonder if the iPhone has a setting that might be causing this (IDK, I’m not an iPhone user myself).

I wasn’t aware their support had an alternative, maybe their self help page is out of date or maybe I remembered it wrong 🙄

I’d have a tinker myself but I’ve not had voicemail now for many years, personal choice, and don't plan on having it any time soon.

Hi Natalie,

I have tried suggestions on here and all to no avail. Tried through your chatbot and no matter how I tried I got nowhere fast and in the end just gave up.
Thanks

For the chat, if you start with talk to person you bypass their automated chat bot.

Looking at issue on 3’s forum, they say as they’ve recently moved to a new VM

platform, + delay can’t be changed from default of 15 secs.

Numerous posts requesting for users to be able to mod delay period.

Hi @bmwboy

You should be able to use the code used in @Daz_S’s first message to put the dialer to last up to 30 seconds, however that would be the longest it could go.

61*12330#

Hi Tom,

tried Daz S  code and when I press send it throws up …….. Message Error…… I have tried another  code offered on here and message then says that I have successfully changed my settings,However no change and still just 4 rings.
Gelux has posted that on the 3 platform you can’t go beyond 15 seconds and I would be happy with that.
slowly losing the will to live 😂

thanks

Hi @bmwboy

Okay, does it throw up the error when it’s trying to be set to 30 seconds or any change at all?
