I eventually gave up trying to resolve an issue and left the network. I've just checked my bank and IDmobile have taken another monthly charge when I still had 14 days left on my old one.

How did you leave iD Mobile, @Brian Scott?

By using a PAC or STAC, or otherwise by giving iD 30-days notice of cancellation?

I tried by pac but the system wouldn't acknowledge it even after 5 attempts.

I eventually got through to customer services and requested a pac code which I have now received.

I specifically asked if there would be any further charges and was told no.

Have you used your PAC from iD yet, @Brian Scott

Your final bill is only produced after you have left the iD network.

No. My replacement sim has not arrived . I have a switchover date in a few days.

I asked customer services specifically about further charges and was told there would be nothing further unless the pac code was unused by the end of 30 days from issue. In which case the charges would continue.

Sorry, I’m confused, @Brian Scott

You’ve got a future switching date, meaning your iD account is not closed yet.

Your iD account won’t be closed until your new network starts working on your number transfer, in a few days time.

If there was a direct debit due before your iD account is closed, this will still be collected.

There's no confusion other than the information I was given by customer services.

As I said, I specifically asked about future charges and was told that as soon as the pac code was used my account would be deactivated.

My next payment is not due to for some time and has been taken in advance of its due date.

Not sure iD are correct on this, @Brian Scott.

I don’t work for iD Mobile, but iD customer service could not know if there’d be any further charges, because you might use your iD SIM, to do something not included in your plan allowances, before leaving the network - how would they know?

Your iD account would not be closed immediately after giving the iD PAC to a new provider - UK mobile number transfers do not happen immediately.

Your final iD bill is usually produced the day after your scheduled number transfer date.

Probably best to Live Chat with iD customer service to dispute the charges.

Hey there @Brian Scott, if your contract is still active, and the PAC code hasn’t been used and the switch completed yet, you’d be charged until the disconnection date.

If you’ve been charged a full months bill, but leave before the full 30-days are used, we’d automatically credit/refund you any extra that you paid, for the extra days line-rental paid, and you’d only pay for the days that the contract remained active past the previous invoice date.

Thanks,

Tyler

Thanks Tyler. That was my concern.

It's a shame I couldn't resolve my original issue with reception etc when I contacted Customer services. But that's what the issue was. I'm unable to access 5g in most places even after upgrading phone and making calls on the network is hit and miss.

It's just the geography. I'm 500 metres line of sight from the nearest three mast but 60 metres downhill.

I'll wait to see now what happens when the switchover takes effect and get back in touch.

Cheers

Hi @xYTTYx

I’m sorry to hear you feel this way, however if you continue to be abuse and vulgar, we’ll have no choice but to ban you from the platform.

If you’ve selected to initiate a 30 day disconnection to cancel your plan with us, you’ll owe for billing through to the disconnection date.

Tom
