Fairfone 4 WiFi calling

This handset is (still) not on the WiFi calling supported list.  When might we expect it to be added, or if unclear, what are the criteria for inclusion?

Fairfone release android updates with a healthy cadence, and I'm currently running Android 13.  WiFi calling is all enabled on the handset, but I see no attempt to establish a WiFi call.

Would be great to get this added, to ameliorate the apparent degrading mast coverage in RG30.

Hi @jmsfnch

Unfortunately we don’t know when or if a device may be added to the Wi-Fi calling support list, the Fairphone isn’t a brand we sell ourselves, so our priority wouldn’t be with that brand.

Thanks, @Tom , appreciate the reply.

Is wifi calling permitted for devices absent form the supported list, or is service access somehow limited at your end?

Just trying to clarify if this is...

  1. classed as “unsupported” because it’s untested (may work, may not; my vendor may be able to fix it)
  2. intentionally disabled, for unknown/unsupported handsets (definitely won’t work)

Please let me know, thanks again!

James

Hi @jmsfnch,

Supported handsets are handsets that we know will work with iD.

For other devices with the feature we can’t guarantee that they will work.
