getting started with iD Mobile

Yesterday I contacted the community regarding the porting issue I had on my 3 handsets from Vodafone to iD Mobile and Natalie replied saying the process could take upto 10 pm last night - it is now 24hours since the activation date and I am still unable to send SMS to the other handsets without getting an error message although those messages seem to go through.

I have tried turning off both imessage and facetime and shutting down the handsets and restarting and switching both on again - I keep getting an error message on the “old” phone number which is on the handset now saying the “an error occurred during activation try again” I have tried it and still no joy.

Can you please help me in trying to overcome this issue and finally get the handsets up and running 100%?

Your Vodafone SIM card should have been deactivated, after the number you wanted to keep was transferred to iD Mobile, @JoaqAlex

If you used your ‘new’ iD SIM card in your iPhone before your number was ported to iD, the Apple iMessage servers sometimes fail to detect the Apple devices has been linked to a different mobile number.

Have you checked the phone number is correct in the Phone app settings on your iPhone, @JoaqAlex

For iOS 18 try, Settings > Apps > Phone > My Number

Hi there,

yes the old ported Vodafone number is there and is correct; I just received a separate email from iD Mobile saying that the switch to id Mobile is happening today by 10 pm rather than yesterday as per the texts I got from iD Mobile - could this be the reason I am still unable to send imessages and SNS without an error message??

Is the iD SIM the only SIM / eSIM in your iPhone, @JoaqAlex

Does your ‘old’ Vodafone SIM still work?

Have you tried restarting the iPhone with your iD SIM?

the iD sim is the SIM on our 3 handsets now; we have not tried the old Vodafone SIMs - should we do that and put them back in??

Yes we have restarted the handsets many times during yesterday with the new iD SIMs FYI.

Let me know if we should re-use the Vodafone SIMs

Hey there @JoaqAlex, we hope that @andewhite was able to help.

Have you restarted your phone this morning and is it working now?

Thanks,

Tyler
