Question

How can I reduce the number of emails ID Mobile send me?

Hi, I signed up the other day, and it’s been a great service apart from one thing.  I’m getting spammed with multiple emails daily, each one is telling me about my existing plan, or asking me to change things like customer service pin.

All of these could have been in the welcome email, without the need for this never ending torrent of bumf.

Is there anywhere in preferences where I can turn off all but urgent emails.  I don’t want to block the email in case there’s anything important.

Cheers
Michael

Hey there @Michael Campbell, sorry to hear that. If you wish to opt out of marketing, you should be able to do so via the bottom of our emails.

Or, please simply ignore any emails that you’re not interested in looking at.

We send these out to help our customers that need this, so if you don’t, please ignore.

Thanks,

Tyler

Thanks, I did opt out of marketing when I initially signed up, but I still received 15 emails in total from ID mobile in the first 4 days.  These emails were coming from the customer update address and the no-reply address.  They seem to have calmed down now, but it was a bit overwhelming for the first 5 days.

I’d recommend you either send them all out at once where possible, or just put a summary of it all in the welcome email, including links to the full details.

For example, I got the Welcome email, then three days after receiving my phone I got the ‘setting up your phone’ email (which I’d already done), then the next day I got an email asking me to update my customer service pin, then the next day I got an email about international calling.  All of those and most of the others could have been in the welcome email 👍

We understand @Michael Campbell

I lot of people tend to dismiss some welcome emails, or don’t read through the whole thing. Plus having individually titled emails, makes them easier to pick out in a search should a customer need to look for them.

Sorry you found it a little overwhelming, and we will feed this back.

Other than that, hope you’re enjoying being with iD 🙂

Thanks for feeding it back, it’s super annoying.  Today I received a text ‘handy tips’, and then an email: How are you getting on?

I’m not a fan of this constant needless communication.  Do you send important emails (such as price changes and billing) from the same customerupdate email address, or am I OK to block that one?

I’ve never experienced this from a company I’m already a customer with before.

Hey there @Michael Campbell, we’re sorry you feel this way and we appreciate your feedback. All of our emails will be sent via the same email address I’m afraid, so we can only advise to ignore these emails if you’re not interested in reading them, so you can still receive your bills etc.

Thanks,

Tyler
