I have a blocked number but voicemails still get delivered from that number. HOW?

I have a strange problem to report. I have a Samsung android A25 5G phone fully up-to-date android software. I have successfully blocked a phone number on the device however I am still getting voicemails from that blocked number being delivered to my voicemail. I would’ve thought that blocking the number would have completely blocked all communications from a blocked number.  Perhaps something needs to be done on the voicemail server as well? I don’t know? Is this normal?

It’s normal behaviour, I'm afraid. Your device is rejecting the call, not the network.

    Hi ​@Pete2000,

    We can’t block a number as a network, you would need to do this via the handset but voicemails can still be left.
