ID dependency on Virgin Media?

I use Virgin Media for my broadband. We’ve had some outages this week, and when it’s happened, my ID mobile 4G also stops working. There’s 4G signal recognised on my phone, but no actual connectivity. Do ID and Virgin have some shared infrastructure somewhere that explains this?

It’s not ideal, as when my broadband fails I need a reliable backup through my mobile provider in order to work.

@username123  Hi there, Virgin Media and O2 are one and have been so for a while now.

It may be a coincidence that your Virgin Media and your iD Mobile both had technical issues more or less the same time. As an ex Telecoms  field engineer, nothing is granguaranteed when it comes to a customer service. Many factors play there part, human error, damaged infrastructure act of god etc but this still doesn't help you.

I'd advice you to contact Virgin Media and explain you problem, they should be able to advise you if any planned works or faults have been issued for your location. Are you still experiencing lack of service with IDMobile? When you're able to check your post code in the ID Mobile checker for coverage and status.

Hello @username123

Thank you for getting in touch.

I can confirm we have no affiliation with Virgin Media.

Is the service currently working for you?

Can you please confirm your handset make/model and if possible your full postcode?

Thanks,

Nat

Hi @username123,

Please let us know what the coverage and network status checker show.

If there are no issues we’ll need to investigate further.
