imessage issues

I’ve recently switched to ID and ported my number over from o2. since having my new phone and cannot get iMessage to work with my number. my number wont verify. when I send an iMessage the recipient is receiving it from my email address. I've tried everything to amend this scoured the internet for hours, watched countless videos and gone through all the motions, 

-reset network settings

-re entered my number into messenger app

-turned iMessage/Facetime on off (waited for an hour before turning it back on)

-reset my phone

-changed my Psim to an Esim

-checked send and receive settings ( my number just says verifying so can’t be ticked just been getting the spinning disc of doom for the past 48 hours)

-I've contacted customer support, just keep getting the same answers and getting sent round in some kind of twisted circle of tech instructions

This is not my first rodeo, I know how things work and all iwant is the blue tick next to my number in facetime and iMessage.

Grateful for any advice. TIA
