we have no phone signal in our area so rely on using wifi calling.  i was recently in france and used all my data roaming allowance.  assumed that when home again i’d still have data outside of the roaming allowance and phone would work as normal.  however, i cant make any international calls.  if all my calls are via wifi why does id mobile prevent me from calling abroad?

International calls aren’t included in your UK plan allowances, @Guyapter

Calling overseas from the UK would produce an out-of-plan charge, assuming your iD account had International calling enabled, and your bill cap was high to cover any potential out-of-plan charges.

@andewhite so even though all calls are through wifi, they still ‘register’ as international calls?

If you’re using a Wi-Fi network together with the iD WiFi Calling service, to place your call it must route through the iD Mobile PSTN to be connected with the number you’re calling, @Guyapter
